Photos: Wedding bells in the age of coronavirus as the couple marries in Forest Park

After having to cancel wedding plans twice due to closed facilities, newlyweds Christine Dougherty and Kaustubh Kulkarni got married in Forest Park on Wednesday, May 6, 2020. It was a tiny ceremony attended only by her parents wearing masks and more than 60 guests watching on Zoom.

Newlyweds Christine Dougherty and Kaustubh Kulkarni head out to take photos with Christine’s parents Tom and Elaine Dougherty of Des Moines, Iowa, following their wedding in Forest Park on Wednesday, May 6, 2020. The couple originally rented out a restaurant for a March wedding but when it was closed for the coronavirus pandemic they rescheduled for mid-April. When that didn’t happen, the couple (who met online three years ago) decided on the small wedding with just her parents attending and about 60 guests on Zoom. “It’s a bummer to not have everybody be here, but we don’t know what’s going to happen two months from now or even two weeks from now,” said the bride. “So now was a good time.” Photo by Robert Cohen, rcohen@post-dispatch.com
