15 Anti-Inflammatory Foods You Should Be Eating

 Shereen Lehman, MS

Inflammation is your immune system’s reaction to irritation, injury, or infection. It’s a normal response (and actually a good thing), and it’s a natural part of healing. But it’s possible that chronic inflammation could have a negative impact on your body and your health.

Following an anti-inflammatory diet is one way to counter some of the chronic inflammation that comes from leading a not-so-healthy lifestyle. If you’re ready to get back on the path to healthy eating, try these 15 foods that are all nutritious and fit perfectly into an anti-inflammatory diet.

Almonds are an excellent source of monounsaturated fats (similar to olive oil), vitamin E, and manganese. They’re also a good source of magnesium and plant protein. In research studies, eating almonds has been associated with having a lower risk of cardiovascular disease, probably by improving the fatty acids profile of your blood.

Almonds are also very satiating, so even though they’re a little higher in calories than many other anti-inflammatory foods, eating a handful of almonds may help you stick with a healthy weight loss program.

Avocados are rich in heart-healthy monounsaturated fats, plus they’re an excellent source of magnesium, fiber, and potassium while being low in sodium. Eating half an avocado will also add nicely to your daily intake of vitamins C, A, E, and B-complex vitamins.

The combination of these nutrients and the polyphenols that work as antioxidants make avocados a must-have for any anti-inflammatory diet.1 Add avocado slices to your favorite sandwich or salad, or make a tasty guacamole.

Broccoli is a member of the cruciferous family of vegetables that are high in phytochemicals called glucosinolates.2 These phytochemicals are powerful antioxidants. Broccoli is also an excellent source of vitamin C, potassium, calcium, and vitamin A, all while being low in calories.

It’s easy to get more broccoli into your diet because it’s delicious cooked or raw.

Epidemiological studies show that eating a diet high in cruciferous vegetables, including broccoli, is associated with having a lower risk of certain types of cancer.

Blueberries contain significant amounts of polyphenols that trigger antioxidant activity and may help to prevent cancer and cardiovascular disease.3 These phytochemicals, including flavonoids, anthocyanidins, phenolic acids, and tannins, prevent and repair the cellular damage done by free radicals.

Laboratory studies show the chemicals in blueberries may also prevent cancer by slowing down the growth of cells and reducing inflammation. They’re also low in calories and add vitamin C, vitamin E, and fiber to your daily diet. And don’t forget they’re also absolutely delicious!

Carrots contain beta-carotene, which your body can convert to vitamin A, which is essential for your health, but it’s also a powerful antioxidant in its own right. Carrots also contain zeaxanthin and lutein, which are also related to vitamin A. Eating a diet rich in these antioxidants may help to reduce your risk of cancer by preventing damage to the healthy cells of your body.4

Since carrots are low in calories and a good source of fiber, they can also help you lose weight if necessary—important because obesity is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and some forms of cancer.

Dry Beans

Dry beans, such as navy beans, kidney beans, pinto beans, and black beans, are an excellent anti-inflammatory source of plant protein, minerals, B-complex vitamins, and vitamin K. They’re also chock-full of beneficial fiber, and they contain polyphenols that work as antioxidants.5

Since beans are high in protein, they’re perfect for meatless meals you’ll love even if you’re not a vegetarian.

Research suggests dry beans may provide health benefits and help prevent some types of heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, as well as reduce inflammation.

Kale is an excellent source of vitamins A, C, and K, and a good source of calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, and vitamin C while being low in sodium. It’s also low in calories and has a bit of fiber.

Kale contains compounds called glucosinolates that may help prevent cancer, plus lutein and zeaxanthin, which are related to vitamin A and may help lower your risk of developing cataracts and macular degeneration. Also, lutein may help prevent atherosclerosis. Add kale to a salad or eat kale chips as a snack.

Olive Oil

Olive oil is an essential component of the Mediterranean diet, which has been linked to heart health and longevity. It’s rich in monounsaturated fats that are good for your blood vessels and has polyphenols that work as antioxidants to protect the cells in your body.

Olive oil helps reduce inflammation, reduces high cholesterol, and it’s possible that some of the polyphenols may help prevent some forms of cancer,6 so it’s an amazing oil to add to your kitchen. It’s not always best for cooking but it’s perfect for salad dressings and for finishing vegetable side dishes.

Oranges are an excellent source of vitamin C and potassium, and they also contain fiber, calcium, and folate. The fiber and folate in oranges may help keep your heart healthy, and vitamin C is essential for immune system function, strong connective tissue, and healthy blood vessels.

Oranges and orange juice are excellent additions to an anti-inflammatory diet7 and you don’t need to save them for breakfast. Oranges make a great afternoon snack and can be added to a variety of dishes and salads.

Salmon contains significant amounts of omega-3 fatty acids—more than any other type of fish or seafood. Studies suggest people who have a higher intake of these fatty acids may be less likely to suffer from dry eyes, and it’s also good for the heart because the healthy fats help reduce inflammation8 and keep cholesterol in check.

The American Heart Association suggests you eat fatty fish at least twice a week because of the beneficial omega-3s, but what makes salmon even better is that it’s also a good source of an antioxidant called astaxanthin.

Spinach is one of the best known of all the anti-inflammatory superfoods.9 It contains lutein, which is related to vitamin A and beta-carotene. Spinach also gives you iron, vitamin K, and folate, and it is very low in calories, so it’s perfect for weight loss diets.

Research shows that people who eat green, leafy vegetables, like spinach, may have a decreased risk of macular degeneration, so add plenty of fresh or cooked spinach to your diet.

Strawberries are delicious, juicy, and sweet—and to make it even better, they’re also good for your health. Strawberries are low in calories, high in fiber, and they contain vitamins and minerals your body needs to function normally, including a lot of vitamin C. They also have anti-inflammatory properties and plenty of potential health benefits.10

Just about all berries are good for you because the pigments that give them their color also contain antioxidants that can help reduce inflammation.

Sweet Potatoes

Sweet potatoes are rich in vitamins and minerals. Like most orange-colored vegetables, they’re extremely high in vitamin A and beta-carotene, which is a potent antioxidant. Sweet potatoes also are an excellent source of many vitamins and minerals, including vitamins C and K, potassium, and B complex vitamins.

Sweet potatoes also have plenty of fiber and aren’t too high in calories, so they make a delicious addition to any diet. A baked sweet potato is perfect as a side dish or top it with baked beans and broccoli and eat it as a meal.

Swiss Chard

Swiss chard is so beautiful and delicious. It’s a wonderful (and colorful) leafy green vegetable to add to your anti-inflammatory shopping list.11 Swiss chard is an excellent source of vitamins A and K, a good source of several minerals and very low in calories.

Research suggests that Swiss chard may have flavonoids that work as antioxidants and reduce inflammation so it makes a healthy addition to your menu.

Walnuts are an excellent source of healthy fats, protein, vitamin E, minerals, and phytochemicals called sterols. They also contain monounsaturated fatty acids and omega-3 fatty acids that are good for your heart. Walnuts are also energy-dense, so you may need to watch your portion size, but, even though they are high in calories, eating a handful of walnuts can help you feel full longer and actually help you lose weight.

A Word From Verywell

Adding these delicious and healthy foods may help improve your overall health and make it easier to manage a healthy weight. A diet rich in anti-inflammatory foods may also help prevent certain health conditions from occurring as you age. Just be sure to keep your anti-inflammatory foods healthy by using the best cooking and meal preparation methods.

Billionaire Black Woman Lectures Poor White People on Their Privilege

RUSH: Now, we got Oprah Winfrey, for crying out loud, and people are starting to ask the question that I have been asking about The Oprah for I don’t know how long.

I have three different stories about this. The first one is from Glenn Beck’s website, The Blaze: “Billionaire Media Maven Oprah Encourages White People to Admit that They are Racist in Bizarre Video — Oprah Winfrey said on video that white privilege and whiteness give white people a leg up over people of color in all situations. In a recent seminar about what it means to be white, the self-made billionaire told white people that they’re racist even when they might not realize that they are racist.”

And her white guests agreed with her, of course. “In a recent episode of ‘The Oprah Conversation,’ Winfrey and NFL linebacker Emmanuel Acho spoke to several white guests who admitted their racism. During the episode — titled ‘Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man: Part 1’ — Winfrey said, ‘There are white people who are not as powerful as the system of white people –‘” because somebody in the audience said, what do you mean? There’s plenty of poor white people, plenty of white people that have no power. What are you talking about, The Oprah?

And so she had to admit, oh, yeah, well, there are white people who are not as powerful, but “the caste system that has been put in place –” We don’t have a caste system. How many people even know what that is? Caste system is India. The thing about a Caste system is if you’re born to it, that’s how you die. There is no upward mobility. If you’re born in poverty, that’s the rest of your life, for all intents and purposes. By design, you don’t move up. We don’t have a caste system, what the hell is she talking about?

This country is defined by people who came from nothing, like she did. How in the world did she do it with so much white privilege and so much racism? Who in the world screwed up and let The Oprah become a billionaire? Which one of you white people made that mistake? Was it one of the King brothers, her first syndicator? Who was it? Somebody really goofed up big-time allowing The Oprah to become a billionaire. And not just a billionaire but one of the most powerful people in the country.

So there are white people not as powerful as the system of white people, but they still, “no matter where they are on the rung, or the ladder of success, they still have their whiteness,” which gives them a leg up. Whites have a leg up. You still have your whiteness. That’s what the term white privilege is. It means that whiteness still gives you an advantage no matter. It’s the fundamental issue.

So here we have a billionaire black woman, The Oprah, encouraging white people to admit that they’re racist in a video. And now The Oprah has a new book in her book club, and she’s promoting this all over Apple, Apple News, The Oprah book club. And get this, in partnership with Apple, The Oprah is unveiling the newest selection for Oprah’s book club, “Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents, by Isabel Wilkerson.”

So The Oprah read this book about the caste system that supposedly exists in the United States. And now she’s out there talking about the caste system. We do not have one. But it doesn’t matter. This Isabel Wilkerson says we do, so I guess we do. “Publisher Penguin Random House calls ‘Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents’ a masterful portrait of the unspoken caste system that has shaped America. Through an immersive, deeply researched narrative and stories about real people, Wilkerson explores how America has been defined by a rigid hierarchy of human rankings throughout its history and even today.”

Well, then how the hell did this babe get her book published? Who screwed this up? If there is this white caste system that doesn’t allow black people, how did this woman get her book published, and how is she out there doing book appearances to promote it? And how in the world did The Oprah find out about the book to make it her Book of the Month Club selection?

The Oprah said that this book, Caste: The Origins of Our Discontent “might be the most important book I’ve ever chosen for my book club.” The Oprah said that this book “provides a new way -” get this now, folks, look at me. I want you to hear this. This book “provides a new way of seeing racial inequality, giving rise to countless aha moments and helping us truly understand America as it is now and how we hope it will be.”

So a new way of looking at, a new way of identifying, a new way of seeing racial inequality. Why would they need a new way? Maybe the term racism, racist is falling by the wayside? Maybe ’cause people are tired of it? Like I think people are worn out on hurricane forecasts. I think people’s emotions over — every one of them is a catastrophe. Every one of them is gonna destroy your house. Every one of them is gonna kill your kids. Every one of them is gonna flood you out. Every one of them is gonna make sure the grocery store has got nothing in it. Every one of them is gonna ruin your car.

None of that ever happens. People are worn out. The emotional reservoir is empty. And I think there’s so many people who are racists and there’s so much racism, and America so sucks and America is so mean, America’s so evil, they need a new way to explain how bad America is. So now America has a caste system.

Isabel Wilkerson says she was honored and thrilled that The Oprah had chosen her book. Oh, Lordy, isn’t it such an exciting day. We have an American caste system now. It’s a new way of explaining how black people don’t have a chance. Except, of course, for The Oprah. And except, of course, pick your successful black person. They’re all over the place. I guess we need some exemptions.

So there’s a white caste system. You white people have a leg up no matter how poor, no matter how powerless, no matter how ineffective, no matter how stupid, dumb, and hayseed you are, you still have more power than anybody else.

RUSH: This is Kerry, Charleston, South Carolina. Welcome. Great to have you here. Hello.

CALLER: Hey, Rush. How are you?

RUSH: I’m doing great. Thank you very much.

CALLER: Love your show. I was just calling about the part about Oprah and, you know, when you used to drive around and figure out —

RUSH: Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

CALLER: — and that’s exactly what I have been doing my whole life, is doing the same thing. I have always been — well, my family was, “if you’re born poor, you’re gonna die poor,” that kind of upbringing I had. And I lived with Democrats, screaming Democrats —

RUSH: Wait, wait, wait. I lost you.

CALLER: Sorry.

RUSH: What did you say about living poor, dying poor?

CALLER: When you’re born poor, you’re gonna die poor.

RUSH: Who said that?

CALLER: Isn’t that what Oprah was saying, you brought that up in the same kind of Oprah comment? You had a term for it, and I can’t remember what you —

RUSH: The caste system of India is that way. And she chose an author who’s written a book calling what we have in America a caste system.

CALLER: Right. And that’s what I grew up with. In a traditional American home, that’s what I was brought up with, that if you’re born poor, you’re gonna die poor. Screaming Democrats.

RUSH: That’s what your family taught you?

CALLER: Yes. Yep. My whole life. They’re still saying it. My aunt’s 87 years old —

RUSH: Your family Democrats?

CALLER: Oh, yeah. Screaming Democrats. You think Democrats are screaming now? I grew up — I’m 65. I grew up with screaming — my parents would scream —

RUSH: Well, wait. Are you poor? Are you still poor?

CALLER: Well, no, ’cause I met my husband who grew up on a dairy farm —

RUSH: Oh, so you married up. You married a guy with the others.

CALLER: And we just looked at each other one day and said, “If they can do it, we can do it.” My husband has his own business. I have my own business. He’s got employees. We are in real estate. We have seven rental properties we bought. And everybody in our family thinks we are crazy.

RUSH: Okay. But wait. The thing about Oprah, Oprah is basing this entirely on race. Your family believed you’re born poor, you stay poor because they were Democrats, and that’s what their party told ’em. And the party told them the Republicans are your problem. The Republicans are gonna keep you poor. That’s why you gotta vote for us.

What Oprah is saying is that it is white people who are keeping black people poor, and they never have a chance to change. That’s why she chose this book calling America now a caste system because racism doesn’t cut it anymore. The term racism, the allegation of racism or the term racist, people have been called that now for 50 years. It’s kind of lost its impact.

So a new term. The caste system. Meaning if you’re born one way, that’s it. And if you’re black, it’s really it. You really don’t have a chance because white people are using all the power they’ve got to keep you down, except you’re not supposed to look at Oprah when you see any of this. You’re not supposed to see an overweight African-American woman billionaire. You’re not supposed to see Oprah when she starts talking about how black people have no chance. You’re not supposed to see Bob Johnson, the Black Entertainment Network. You’re not supposed to see any of these examples. You know, it’s hideous, what Oprah is attempting to teach people here.

RUSH: Upper Peninsula, Michigan, this is Anita. I’m glad you called. It’s great to have you with us today. Hi.

CALLER: Hey, Rush, thanks for taking my call. I’m really thrilled to be on.

RUSH: Thank you.

CALLER: I just want to talk about Oprah Winfrey. I really think that she’s doing a disservice to people over time, successful people. (pause) I got it all wrong. A disservice to people of color. There are so many successful people of color in every aspect of our economy. But yet she overlooks that and she focuses on the negative, saying you can’t be successful unless you blame others.

RUSH: You know what the interesting thing about this is that this is totally out of character. Isn’t Oprah known as a “you can do anything you want” kind of person? Isn’t she known as somebody that uplifts people personally and professionally, that one of her schticks is, you don’t know how good you are, you don’t know what you’re capable of. Now here she comes along and basically, in hyping a book for her book club, is basically telling these same people, “You don’t got a prayer. You don’t got a chance because of white privilege.”

CALLER: Hm-hm. Exactly. And I don’t understand it, ’cause I used to really like her in the beginning. And then after she started getting political, then it start to turn —

RUSH: Wait a minute.

CALLER: — and just like —

RUSH: Wait a minute. When she started getting — when did that happen?

CALLER: I could see it when Obama was running.

RUSH: You think that’s when The Oprah first got political is when she get in bed with the Obamas and their presidential campaign?

CALLER: Well, that’s when I noticed it the most.

RUSH: Well, you know, that is fascinating, ’cause to me, Oprah Winfrey has been political from the day her syndicated show went on the air, but you’re indicating that a lot of people didn’t even think of Oprah as being in the political world or having political reasonings, ties, whatever, and that would have added to her legitimacy, in their minds.

CALLER: That’s true.

RUSH: I’ve thought Oprah was a Democrat Party liberal from the get-go. I’ve never thought she was anything but that. I’m not arguing with you. I think your perception — and actually, I know a lot of women like you loved the woman, loved her show. This is why when I encountered that, I said, how in the world can people run around talk about what a mean-spirited, racist country this is when the wealthiest and one of the most powerful by virtue of the American people investing in her, one of the most powerful people in the country be an African-American woman? Where is white privilege? Where is all this racism?

And I had people say, “You can’t say it that way.” I said, “Why not? If we’re being told how racist and sexist and all that we are, there ought not be an Oprah Winfrey and she ought not be popular.” And let’s not forget something. White women made up the vast majority of her audience. She would not be a billionaire without ’em. She wouldn’t have a large enough audience without white women and yet running around now claiming that there’s a white caste system that relegates blacks to inferior status about which they can change nothing. You’re right. It’s a disservice to everybody who ever invested in her.

Racist Biden: Blacks Are All the Same, Have No Diversity of Thought

RUSH: Now, Trump has requested a fourth debate, the Trump campaign. A fourth debate and an early start. Now, one of the reasons why is because of mail-in voting and absentee voting and early voting. The Trump campaign is saying, if we’re gonna be starting the vote much sooner than we ever have before, we gotta get these debates going because people make up their minds after watching a debate.

There’s also the fact that Biden can’t do a debate and won’t do a debate, which is another reason why the Trump campaign is requesting a fourth. Let me show you why there will not be a debate. There won’t be one debate. There won’t be four debates. There won’t be any number of debates. Grab audio sound bite number 1. This happened yesterday. The National Association of Black Journalists, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists’ virtual convention. This is the same convention where Biden told a CBS reporter, African-American (imitating Biden) “What do you mean a cognitive test? I don’t need to take a cognitive — what are you, cocaine, what are you, a junkie?” So from that same virtual convention, here is Joe Biden talking to NPR’s Lulu Garcia-Navarro, who asked him a question. “Will you reengage with Cuba?”

BIDEN: Yes. And, by the way, what you all know but most people don’t know, unlike the African-American community with notable exceptions, the Latino community is an incredibly diverse community with incredibly different attitudes about different things.

RUSH: Did you hear that or did it go by too quickly? (interruption) This is why there won’t be any debates. This is exactly why the Democrats and the Biden campaign cannot throw him out there and do a debate. It’s not just the gaffes, and it’s not just the losing his train of thought. It’s this. “Will you reengage with Cuba?”

(imitating Biden) “Yeah, yeah. And, by the way, what you all know, that most people don’t know, unlike the African-American community, the Latino community is an incredibly diverse community, incredibly different attitudes about different things.” And of course the Cuban population is largely Hispanic in Biden’s mind. So, yeah, I’d engage with Cuba ’cause it’s far more productive.

So should Joe Biden be suspended from social media, from the sewer, for his racist comments about African-Americans? I don’t care. The question just occurred to me. Maybe Democrat racism is permitted. Maybe it’s even encouraged by their community rules, who knows. Listen – to it again. This has flown under the radar. Well, actually it hasn’t flown under the radar. In fact, there’s a headline for this story that they kind of try to — yeah. This is Yahoo News that had the story, and the headline: “Biden Draws Distinction Between Diversity Within Black And Latino Communities.”

Do you think you’d ever see a headline: “Trump Draws Distinction.” No, “Trump, without evidence, claims that there’s a lot of more diversity in the Hispanic community than in the African-American community, establishing once again that Trump is a bald-faced liar and racist.” Which would be the headline. But with Plugs it’s just, “Biden Draws Distinction Between Diversity Within Black And Latino Communities.” Here. Listen to it again. Three, two, one.

BIDEN: Yes. And, by the way, what you all know but most people don’t know, unlike the African-American community with notable exceptions, the Latino community is an incredibly diverse community with incredibly different attitudes about different things.

RUSH: So what does this say to African-Americans about African-Americans? What Biden has done here is simply give away the game. Biden has spoken as a career Democrat, and he has shared with the world the attitude the Democrat Party has about African-Americans. They’re all the same. Maybe a few exceptions, but there’s no diversity. They’re monolithic. We only have to treat ’em a certain way and they’ll do whatever we need. They’ll show up and vote for us whenever we need, whenever we want. Just have to say the same things to ’em over and over again ’cause there isn’t any diversity, isn’t any difference in any of them. They’re all the same.

This is what the Democrat Party’s attitude toward African-Americans is. (interruption) And, yeah, yeah, I was just gonna say. I wonder what my buddy Charlamagne tha God’s reaction is gonna be to this because it was Charlamagne tha God interviewing Biden (imitating Biden), “You ain’t black if you ain’t voting for me. If you ain’t voting for a Democrat you ain’t black.” And people kind of thought that was off the reservation. No. That is the Democrat Party.

What Biden is doing here, he’s got no filter. Biden has no boundaries, he’s got no… what’s the word that I’m looking for? (interruption) Well, it’s “filter” but he’s got — there’s no — yeah, “filter” works until I come up with what I’m actually thinking of. He just blurts out what he’s thinking. And what he’s thinking is, as a Democrat has for all of his life. When he says, “If you don’t vote for me, if you don’t vote Democrat, you ain’t black.” He meant that. That is how they think, you African-Americans, you have a duty to vote Democrat. That is your purpose in life is voting Democrat. And if you don’t, you ain’t black.

And take a look at the way they treat conservative African-Americans. They disown them. Other blacks do as well. They’re Uncle Toms. So Biden is simply remaining in character. African-Americans are monolithic. They don’t think differently from one another. It’s easy to relate to ’em. It’s easy to get them to do what we need ’em to do. But the Hispanic community, now, that’s different. There’s a lot of diversity in the Hispanic community. There’s a lot of different ways of thinking in the Hispanic community. So that’s why I would reengage with Cuba, some really fascinating Hispanics down there, really need to engage ’em ’cause they’re much different, .

Here, listen to it again. I’m not exaggerating. In fact, I’m probably not hitting this stridently enough. Here it is again.

BIDEN: Yes. And, by the way, what you all know but most people don’t know, unlike the African-American community with notable exceptions, the Latino community is an incredibly diverse community with incredibly different attitudes about different things.

RUSH: Okay. So what’s The Oprah gonna do with this new book that she’s chosen that says people are tired of racism, it doesn’t move the bell anymore, move the meter, we need something more, so they’re coming up with America’s caste system. In Joe Biden’s mind African-Americans march in a straight line. They don’t think for themselves. And if they don’t vote Democrat, they’re not even black. According to Biden, African-Americans lack diversity of thought. They engage almost exclusively in groupthink, and that’s how the Democrat Party approaches them. That’s how the Democrat Party treats them.

This is why they can’t let him out of the basement. This is why they can’t turn him loose without a teleprompter, and even then it’s a risk. And this is why there aren’t gonna be any debates. He’s saying that African-Americans are like-minded simpletons. This is as racist a comment as anything they want to try to lay off on us, folks. This is how senile basement dwellers think and speak. (interruption) No, no, no, no, no. I didn’t say that. No, no, no. He doesn’t think they all look alike. He’s convinced they all think alike. He is convinced that they all react the same way.

He is convinced that you have to approach the African-American community in only one way. And what way is that? That everybody on the Republican side is a racist pig. You know what it is? You know how the Democrats approach African-Americans? It’s real simple. There’s a great phrase that has been developed to describe it. The soft bigotry of low expectations. Biden is part of the age-old Democrat Party which feels sorry for African-Americans. They think of them all as victims incapable of helping themselves, incapable of living on their own, incapable of doing the right things on their own. They need the Democrat Party to do all these things for them.

And with such low expectations, there’s bigotry there. When you think somebody’s incapable of doing something — when you think, by the way, when you think an entire race is incapable, when you think an entire race is a collection of victims — and this is what Biden has let out of the bag. This is what the traditional Democrat view of African-Americans has always been. It’s why we on the right get so frustrated.

If there are any of you African-American Democrats in the audience, this why we get so frustrated. They don’t think of you the way you think they do. They don’t have anything other than low expectations of you. They don’t have anything but a bunch of feel-sorry sympathy for you. The expectation they have is that you gonna vote for ’em. And if you don’t, you won’t have any practical purpose for them. This is demeaning. It is racist and it’s ignorant. And it’s all rolled into one 14-second audio clip.

He’s doubling down on what he told my old buddy Charlamagne tha God. If you don’t vote for me, you ain’t black. Joe Biden making broad judgments about people based on their skin color: Hispanics, diversity, all over the place, unlike African-Americans, and you know what I’m talking about.

RUSH: Audio sound bite number 2. This is again the National Association Black Journalists, National Association of Hispanic Journalists virtual convention where Joe Biden has just said (paraphrasing), “Yeah, by the way, what you all know” — he’s talking to a Hispanic female reporter — “what you know most people don’t know, unlike the black community, the Latino community’s incredibly diverse, incredibly different attitudes about different things, unlike the black community. And we know the black community like nobody knows the black community. We know.”

Same convention, same place, same reporter, Lulu Garcia-Navarro says to Biden, “So if you scrap the president’s tariffs on China, what do you want in return? If you’re gonna get rid of those, are you just gonna scrap ’em without any concessions from the Chinese?”

BIDEN: The way Trump — the way China will respond is when we gather the rest of the world and that fact invades in in free – in, in open trade and making sure that we’re in a position that the world — that we deal with WHO the right way. That, that in fact, that’s when things begin to change.

RUSH: And there’s another reason why there will not be a debate. There won’t be one debate, there won’t be two, there won’t be four. Here. This is amusing. Let’s listen to this again. Remember, the question. “Okay. So if you scrap Trump’s tariffs on the ChiComs,” which, by the way, are working “if you scrap the tariffs, what do you want from the ChiComs in return, or is it nothing, you’re just gonna scrap the tariffs and not demand the ChiComs make any concessions?”

BIDEN: The way Trump — the way China will respond is when we gather the rest of the world and that fact invades in in free – in, in open trade and making sure that we’re in a position that the world — that we deal with WHO the right way. That, that in fact, that’s when things begin to change.

RUSH: So this is why yesterday I made a big point, whoever is putting Biden out there is doing all of this on purpose. They’re subjecting him to this ridicule. They’re putting him out here in these circumstances that he is not capable of existing in, not capable of performing. His mental acuity is — well, it’s vanishing by the day. Let’s read this by the transcript. “The way Trump — the way China will respond” — the question was, what’s he gonna do, if he scraps Trump’s tariffs, are you gonna demand other concessions, or are you just gonna let it go?

“The way Trump — the way China will respond is when we gather the rest of the world and that fact invades in in free – in, in open trade and making sure that we’re in a position that the world — that we deal with WHO the right way.” That’s the World Health Organization. It’s got nothing to do with tariffs. The World Health Organization is in the ChiComs’ back pocket, “That we deal with WHO the right way. That, that in fact, that’s when things begin to change.”

He has no idea what he said. He has no idea what the question was, folks. Now, somebody, a lot of people in the Democrat Party are throwing him out there and subjecting him to this, such is their rabid, unrequited desire to get rid of Donald Trump. But this can’t even be much less part of a debate. They can’t allow this to keep happening. This is part of the campaign, for crying out loud.

RUSH: All right. Before we move on, I want to play one more sound bite for you just to — not that it’s necessary. I just want to do it to illustrate the difference in the way the Drive-Bys are treating Biden versus the way they treat Trump. And interestingly, let me find it. There’s a story in the Stack, and I put it near the top. There’s a Gallup survey out there, and it’s stunning about who the American people blame for the partisanship. It’s the media, but the amount by which — here it is. Here it is.

“Gallup Poll Finds 84% of Americans Say Media to Blame for US Political Divide.” Gallup, 84%? You want to talk about some people that agree right down the line with President Trump? The fake news is the enemy of the people. Eighty-four percent, Gallup, find, say that the media is to blame for the partisan divide. America needs a Truth Detector more than ever, and I am that man. We have been infected by a fake news media requiring me, the Doctor of Democracy and America’s Truth Detector, to keep everybody from succumbing to this.

“A new poll released on Tuesday shows Americans have a growing distrust of the media -” this is second such poll this week. “– with an overwhelming majority saying the press have a political bias and nearly half saying news outlets display a ‘great deal’ of bias,” and that 84% of Americans say the media is to blame for the partisan divide. Folks, that means even some Democrats agree with this. That is a stunning number.

The previous story this week about the people distrusting the media was an AP story by one of their prominent media writers, a guy by the name of David Bauder. Oh, no, no, no, no. It’s not gonna change the way the media goes about doing anything ’cause they’re activists. They’re not even really journalists. There’s not journalism going on here. It’s activism disguised as journalism. There is not any news anymore.

This program gives you more news than anything you could watch on ABC, CBS, NBC or read in the New York Times. And let me just illustrate this. Sound bite number three. Now, it was yesterday that Biden was being interviewed by a CBS report by the name of Errol something or other, and it was to this reporter that Biden asked him (imitating Biden), “You been doing cocaine, you take a little snort out there, what are you, a junkie?” Because this reporter had asked him about whether he’d taken a cognitive dissonance test. So here’s how CBS reported on this yesterday. The reporter is Ed O’Keefe. This is last night on the CBS Evening News.

O’KEEFE: Biden today also brushed off questions raised by Mr. Trump about his mental fitness, telling black and Latino journalists, including CBS’ Errol Barnett, that he’s never taken a cognitive test.

BIDEN: No, I haven’t taken a test. Why the hell would I take a test? Come on, man! That’s like saying, you, before you got in this program, did you take a test whether you’re taking cocaine or not? What do you think? Huh? Are you a junkie?

RUSH: They just report this. They didn’t defend their reporter. They didn’t bother to in any way exonerate their reporter. They didn’t defend him. They just reported it. Biden attacked one of their own, and they still protect Biden. They still shield him. I air that for you just to illustrate the difference.

Let me grab this guy on line 3, this fits with where we are right now. David in Marco Island, Florida. Welcome, sir. Great to have you on the program. How you doing, sir?

CALLER: Very well, Rush. Thank you.

RUSH: You bet. Go ahead. We’re ready to go here.

CALLER: My comment is that when Joe spoke yesterday to that reporter about recognizing animals, being able to tell the difference between an elephant and a lion, it implies he has had a cognitive test. (loss of caller audio).

RUSH: Well, the reason I want to take your call is because not necessarily. Asking a person taking a cognitive test the difference between a lion and an elephant. But remember, Trump talked about it in his — I guess it was the Chris Wallace interview on Fox. I forget. I forget. Trump’s on so many different media things, I don’t know what it was. I think it was Chris Wallace. They were standing on the colonnade outside the Rose Garden, I think, and Trump talked about the test, and he talked about how he aced it, he talked about some of the questions. And one of the questions was, can you tell the difference between a lion and an elephant.

Well, Biden could have been watching that. Biden could have watched the Trump interview. It’s entirely possible he hasn’t taken a cognitive test. Not that it matters to me one way or the other. But he could have been watching the Trump interview and that’s how he knows that a cognitive test asks you to stipulate the difference in a lion and an elephant, that he maybe has taken a cognitive. But the real point here is he calls a reporter a junkie, he makes up this thing about maybe you did some cocaine before you came to interview me. Come on, man, what are you talking about here? Are you some junkie?

And then you come back with the Biden answer today about Hispanics are wildly diverse and African-Americans are monolithic, there’s nothing interesting about African-Americans, they’re all the same, and we treat them all the same.

RUSH: By the way, I think the president may have had this show turned on shortly after noon. Listen to this audio sound bite.

THE PRESIDENT: I just watched a clip, and Joe Biden this morning totally disparaged and insulted the black community. What he said is incredible and I don’t know what’s going on with him, but it was a very insulting statement he made. And I guess you’ll figure that out. You’ll see it in a little while. But it was a great insult to the black community.

RUSH: So the president came out of the White House at about 12:15, and he’s on his way to the helicopter. So I’m thinking somebody in there listened to the program, “Mr. President, you gotta hear this, you gotta see this,” showed him a clip, whatever. Folks, it is incredible what Biden said.

The Twitter employee who announced to the world why the Trump campaign account was briefly suspended is the Kamala Harris former press secretary Nick Pacilio. There’s a woman that does the same thing at Facebook who was the former — her name is Sarah Pollack, I believe. He’s Facebook’s policy communications manager. She would be the one pulling down Trump campaign tweets. She worked for Hillary.
