These kingfishers look like two very angry birds—the pair were caught on camera battling it out mid-air over breeding territory.

Photographer Jonathon Rosborough, 25, from Ballymena, Northern Ireland, took the pictures along a river called Sixmile Water, in Antrim, Northern Ireland.

The pictures show two brightly colored kingfishers wresting for domination over one another in a ferocious fight.

Jonathon, who also works as a microbiologist, snapped the pictures during the short fight—which was caused by a battle for breeding territory along the river.

“I was taking my six-month-old daughter out for a walk in the pram when I spotted the two birds; I always take my camera with me everywhere I go in case I spot something special,” Jonathon explained.

The battle between the two male kingfishers lasted no more than 10 seconds, he said. “At first, I thought I was watching a pair on the far river bank when all of a sudden they flew towards each other and locked bills in mid-air.

“They plummeted into the water of the river below and continued scrapping; tumbling into the water a few more times before the bird on the right claimed victory and chased his rival off upstream.”

Neither bird appeared to be badly hurt, he added. “I knew they were territorial but I didn’t realise they fought like this until I witnessed it for myself.

“I couldn’t believe it at first; luckily I had my camera on hand to document the action.

“After speaking to some other fellow wildlife photographers when I got home, they told me they had never witnessed anything like this before either!”

Authorities Arrest Purported BLM Leader, Former Professor After Discovering Abraham Lincoln Statue Smeared in Feces

Police arrested Terry Wilson on Tuesday night after “physical and electronic evidence” proved that he was at the scene of the defacing of an Abe Lincoln statue. The statue was defaced with feces back in February. Wilson is a member of BLM and is also a former professor, but obvious history is not his specialty. But, then again BLM has gone after Lincoln the same way they have gone after former slave owners.

Police were called to the park in Idaho, where they found the statue had been smeared with feces and covered in paint. And although there was no permanent damage to the statue, there is expenses for cleaning up the statue and the disgusting smell that workers had to endure. When the police got to Wilson to arrest him, Wilson tried unsuccessfully to flee.

A news release from the police said:

“Officers chased after Wilson and were able to stop him and take him into custody, at which time Wilson was found to be in possession of a firearm, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Wilson was taken to the hospital and was medically cleared before being booked into the Ada County Jail.”

Wilson has been charged with injuring monuments, ornaments, and public improvements; resisting and obstructing officers; and possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Wilson described himself as online as an associate professor at Boise State University and has been described by the press as the Boise Black Lives Matter chapter spokesman. But, the university said that he was not either a current professor or a student at the university.

In February, Boise Mayor Lauren McLean condemned the vandalism and promised that those involved would be “held accountable.”

“At a time when our democracy is fragile, this is particularly disturbing as President Lincoln sought to keep our fractured nation together and to address the scourge of slavery — losing his life for it,” McLean said at the time.

Additional arrests are expected, according to the Statesman.

Abraham Lincoln was against slavery long before he became president, never owned a slave and he went to war rather than to allow slavery to continue. I am a huge baseball fan but I would never deface the plaque of Ty Cobb because his lifetime batting average was .367 and not .370. No one is 100% perfect, at least not since the crucifixion.

In Lincoln’s time, he was the only man willing to take a stand against the evils of slavery. What would have happened without him?
