Lyrics
I’m gonna wait on You
Help me to wait on You
Help me to wait on You

I’m gonna wait until I hear from You
I’ll wait for You to see me through
Abide in Your word and know it’s true
Stand still ’til You tell me to move

I’m gonna wait until I hear from You
Help me to wait for You to see me through
Abide in Your word and know it’s true
Stand still and wait until I hear from You

Lord, help me to wait on You patiently
And Lord, help me to see Your face while I’m waiting
You said in Your word, be anxious for nothing
So I’ll continue serving You
Yes, I’ll continue praising You while I wait

Oh, wait, help me to wait on You
Help me to wait on You
I’m gonna wait (wait) until I hear from You
I’ll wait (wait) for You to see me through
Abide in Your word and know it’s true
Stand still ’til You tell me to move

I’m gonna wait (wait) until I hear from You
Help me Jesus (wait) for You to see me through
Oh, abide in Your word and know it’s true
Stand still and wait (oh, Lord, I need You, oh)

Oh, Lord, help me to wait on You patiently
And Lord, oh, Lord, help me to see Your face while I’m waiting
You said, in Your word, be anxious for nothing
So I’ll continue serving You
Yes, I’ll continue praising You

Oh, while I wait (wait) until I hear from You
Help me Jesus (wait) for You to see me through
Oh, abide in Your word and know it’s true
Stand still and wait (Oh, Lord, I need You, oh)

I’ll wait (wait) until I hear from You
Somebody may need to wait for God to tell You what to do
Oh, abide in Your word and know it’s true
Stand still and wait (oh, until I hear a word from You)

Lord, I know I need You (wait)
So I won’t move, I won’t move, no (wait)
Abide in Your word and know it’s true (ah, help me to rest in You)
Stand still and wait (I’m gonna be still, I’m gonna be still)

Lord, now wait (wait) until I hear from You
Somebody may need to wait for God to tell You what to do (wait)
Oh, abide in Your word and know it’s true (he’s calling us to seek his faith)
Stand still and wait (just take some time)

Take some time and be still
Take some time and be still, wait on Jesus (’til I hear from You)
When you don’t know what else to do, just wait
When you don’t know what else to do, wait (’til I hear from You)
His thoughts are higher than our thoughts, yeah
His ways are higher than our ways, oh (’til I hear from You)

Just wait on, wait on
Encourage somebody, tell’ ’em, wait on (wait on, wait on)
Just wait on and wait on (wait on, wait on)
Just trust His way and wait on (wait on, wait on)
Be still and wait on (wait on, wait on)
Just wait on and wait on (wait on, wait on)
Just wait on and wait on (wait on, wait on)
Just wait on and wait on (wait on, wait on)
He sees you, wait on (wait on, wait on)
He hears you, wait on (wait on, wait on)

Don’t move, just wait (wait on, wait on)
Don’t move, just wait (wait on, wait on)
Don’t move, don’t move (wait on, wait on)
Be still and wait on (wait on, wait on)
He knows right where you are (wait on, wait on)
Just wait on and wait on (wait on, wait on)
Be encouraged, wait on (wait on, wait on)
Trust His way and wait on (wait on, wait on)

Oh, be encouraged while you wait
Seek His face while you wait
Say, Lord, I love You, Lord, I trust You
All my hope is in You, oh
Just wait on, wait on, wait on, wait on
No matter where you are, wait on, wait on, oh

Wrong Place. Wrong Time. Wrong Voice.

Wrong Place. Wrong Time. Wrong Voice.

“Do not be deceived: ‘Evil company corrupts good habits.’”
—1 Corinthians 15:33
You’re probably familiar with the story of Eve from Genesis 3 and how she ate the forbidden fruit. But let’s remember where Eve was when she was tempted. She was in the very place that God told her to stay away from.

God had said, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die” (Genesis 2:16–17 NKJV).

Yet as Genesis 3 begins, where do we find Eve? We find her at the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. So the devil came along and said, in effect, “Did God really say what you thought He said?”

The Bible tells us that when Eve “saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate” (Genesis 3:6 NKJV). She was in the wrong place at the wrong time, listening to the wrong voice.

Then in the New Testament, we find Simon Peter warming himself by a fire. Jesus had been arrested, and Peter was there in the courtyard of the high priest. And fulfilling the prophecy of Jesus, Peter denied Christ three times (see John 13:38; 18:15–18, 25–27).

He was at the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong people. And he did the wrong thing.

That’s why we want to be careful about where we go and whom we hang out with, because it will impact us. No matter how long we’ve known the Lord, no matter how many Bible verses we’ve memorized or how many Christian songs we know, we need to surround ourselves with godly people.
